• Kids do better when they know not only 'what' is happening with their emotions, but also 'how' (science) and 'why' (cause and effect).
• Kids will leave this workshop knowing the role of their prefrontal cortex and the amygdala when stress and big emotions show up; common stressors, fight-flight-freeze response, and emotional regulation coping tools will be covered.
• Finally, a proven way using stories and multi-sensory learning to help kids understand what happens in their brain when they are angry, embarrassed, anxious, or stressed so they can take back their inner power without losing self-esteem.
• When emotions get big, and kids get stressed, many of them don't know what to do about it or how to cope.
• The child-brain doesn’t fully mature until age 25+; this means that children will feel challenged in understanding and managing their big emotions, but they don't actually know what's happening inside of them and why, and this impacts their self-esteem, especially if their caregivers don't know how to support them.
• This workshop is based on a multi-sensory learning experience involving stories, discussion, self-discovery work, mindfulness practices, and arts and crafts.
