Why This? Why Now?

Life is busy. Things get hectic.

How marvelous to slow down in the most human way to connect with others whose company you enjoy.

Most celebrations ask you to go somewhere, spend something, and recover afterward.

A collective wellness gathering provides space for presence and self-expansion...

In your own space, with your own people, you’re guided through breath, movement, and wellness practices shaped around who is in the room and what the occasion means.

You leave connected, not depleted.

Holiday gatherings, winter milestones, and spring pre-wedding celebrations are already filling calendars.

Every gathering is designed individually, so dates are limited.

Recent data reveals that North America is facing a critical intersection where declining participation in event gatherings heavily correlates with surging stress levels and historic lows in personal connection.

While in-person events offer a profound "buffer" against mental strain, structural shifts in how we spend our time have severely weakened communal resilience.

Rooted In Tradition

Serving a Modern World

Yoga comes from the spiritual traditions of India. It isn’t a trend, and I don’t treat it like one. Here’s what that looks like in your home:

  • I’m honest about what this is. A celebration with yoga at its heart, offered with care. It’s not medical treatment or therapy.

  • I credit the roots. When we breathe, chant, or meditate, I share where the practice comes from and why it’s used. Sanskrit and mantras are never decoration.

  • Gifts are offerings, not merchandise. Each guest receives a small offering, like a rose or a keepsake with a handwritten intention.

  • Touch is consent-first. Every guest controls their own card, and “no” never needs an explanation.

  • I give back. 5% of every gathering's funds help facilitate Karma classes in our community or is donated to a charity.

Every gathering opens with a short welcome that names the lineage and sets the tone.

Your Instructor

Ashley Anjlien Kumar...

She is not only a certified Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Instructor (RYT200), she is also a Life Coach, an Somatic Trauma Therapy Coach Author, Speaker, Dance Instructor and a mother of 2.

She is deeply dedicated to practicing, sharing and learning more about Yoga.

When she's not being the primary caregiver to her kids, doing self-esteem coaching for kids and parent coaching work, or doing dance and yoga, she's out with family and friends creating strong relationships and exploring cultural events!

"Everywhere I look, everywhere I go, I see people struggling to connect. I want to bring to people the curated space to slow down, without more added stress and steps to plan a collective gathering time that helps to re-wire what we've been conditioned to understand as "connection" towards authentic presence and energetic balancing.

I've studied Yoga in India and Canada, have taught at several studios, and I am an approved Vendor the Edmonton Public School Board bringing yoga to stressed hardworking educators, and even children.

My somatic and trauma-informed training belongs here; it’s why my approach to touch and consent is careful.

I’ve planned, marketed, and led events for years, including yoga and dance gatherings. I built this so your people can slow down together, and so every detail is held for you.

What Yoga Clients Say...

What Yoga Clients Say...

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What is a Collective Wellness Gathering?

A private, custom-designed yoga and wellness session in your home for 3–10 people marking an occasion, or simply choosing to be together. It’s a celebration with yoga at its heart: not a studio class, and not a medical or therapeutic service.

I'm confused about the "up to 8 people" and the "up to 10 people" information?

Each gathering at the listed price is for up to 8 people. Additional guests are an additional $20 each. The "up to 10" people is based on the amount of equipment, props, mats etc. that Ashley can manage to bring with her to an event. If you have more than 10 guests, they can bring their own mats, props, etc. but the additional $20/person fee will still apply as we aim to give each guest the experience they deserve in the session itself.

Do we need yoga experience?

No you don't. But you do NEED an open mind and heart to move in ways you might not have moved before. Sessions are designed for all levels - including beginner. But this is not a power-yoga style session; it's meant to support collective growth, connection and slowing down to relish the present moment in a soothing, caring environment. The science you may not see behind our gatherings is the nervous system support that we are engaging in...

How much space do we need?

A room where mats can sit side by side or in a circular position: living room, basement, or backyard in summer. I’ll confirm the layout when you book.

Where do you travel?

Edmonton and surrounding areas. A travel fee may apply depending on your location - please inquire during the consultation process.

How long is a gathering?

75 minutes of yoga practice, plus a welcome circle. I arrive 30 minutes early to set up and allow time and space for your guests to arrive and settle in. I will alllow 10-20 minutes afterwards and then gently gather my equipment and materials so your guests don't seem hurried or rushed.

What if someone doesn’t want to be touched?

Many of my regular clients (pre-covid days) loved the aromatherapy based-light touch that I can apply to back of neck and shoulders. But this can be skipped for anyone not open to touch. Additionally, I will sanitize hands between participants. I used pre-printed "consent cards" to make it effortless. Touch is always optional.

What about allergies and scents?

In the case of allergies and scent sensitivities, I will completely eliminate scent from your gathering to respect that.

Can we have drinks?

Please save the toast for after. Movement and alcohol don’t mix well, and it keeps everyone safe. For the purpose of liability issues, it is important no alochol be served during my services for your guests.

What about injuries or pregnancy?

Tell me in the planning form or consultation. I’ll offer modifications, and guests with medical concerns should check with their doctor first.

Why does it cost what it does?

You’re investment is for a custom-designed session, all equipment for up to 10 people, aromatherapy, offerings, setup, cleanup, and travel to your home. For any gathering, because of the behind-the-scenes work, we want you to know that it takes the facilitator at least 3.5 hours of working time to prepare and conduct your gathering.

What about a larger event or corporate event?

Yes - Ashley is an approved vendor for Edmonton Public Schools - she has taught in classrooms and also taught teachers and school staff with up to 40 people per class. In these cases, the host/venue needs to supply the mats, disinfecting sprays (for clean up time) and we often eliminate props for larger events. But most of the other elements of your event can be customized.

Is there a waiver?

Yes. Every guest signs a short digital waiver beforehand which can be accessed via their smartphone. I can also send the link to the host ahead of time.

Your circle. Your space. Time for Collective Wellness and Nourishment.
